An excellent and busy 5 day meet at Dyke Farm, with fishing, quizzes, boules and some new faces :-).
Fishermen: note for our next Dyke Farm meet on 9th -11th September that there are some big fish in the lake! (apologies for the pictures not linking previously).
Well done to “Oh no not them again” on winning the quiz (again!) and to everyone who took park in the Cryptic Underground questions.
It was great to meet some new campers, and I hope that Sam doesn’t mind me quoting her Facebook comment: “Our first time out with our own DA. What a lovely site at Dykes Farm in Pulborough. Lovely site and lovely friendly people. Beautiful day too. Would highly recommend “. The Facebook open day was also a success with a number of people popping in for a chat and a cuppa.
Congratulations to Gordon and Val for winning the Boules competition in a hard fought final with one point in it all the way to 10 all.
Access to the site is best approached via the A283 either via Pulborough or Storrington, then turn into West Chiltington Road, signposted Nutbourne. At the Dyke Farm Shop, turn right into the car park and proceed through to the camping field at the back of the car park through the gate. We would not advise going through the local villages as they can be quite tight when towing. Click Here for link to Google Maps. Postcode RH20 2EE.
UPDATE: Unfortunately due to ground conditions, the site owner cancelled this meet.
Partridge Green Village is home to the Dark Star Brewery, which is open on Saturdays (tours need to be pre-booked) and has a choice of pubs and a fish and chip shop if you don’t fancy cooking yourself.
The site is also adjacent to a disused railway line which is perfect for cycling in a safe and very picturesque environment, so if you can, bring your bike!
