Welcome

Welcome to the West Sussex District Association Web Site.

Further to Instruction from The Camping and Caravanning Club, All activity by Regions, District Associations, National Section and Sections is to Cease with immediate effect due to the Coronavirus/Covid-19 situation. This includes AGM’s, any form of meeting or gathering and all Meets and THS’s. Currently Head Office have advised this will be until at least the end of June and they will review nearer the time. When this situation is amended we will of course continue to comply with Head Office instruction.

As a larger than average proportion of our members are in the “higher risk” categories, we do not feel that hosting meets and THS’s at this time is the “right” thing to do. Our primary concern is, as always, the safety of our members. We trust you understand why we have made this difficult decision, and can support us through this situation and when it has subsided. West Sussex DA hope all of our members stay safe and healthy at this difficult time.

As an aside, as we have not yet conducted our AGM for 2020, your committee have all agreed to continue in their current roles until a new date for the AGM can be set.

The Camping and Caravanning Club in the UK is split up into 13 Regions and in turn 93 District Associations (DA’s), of which we are West Sussex!

We offer cost effective camping Meets and THS’s exclusively for any current members of the CCC, whether you are a member of West Sussex or not, all are invited, and you will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from like minded campers. Its a great way to meet new friends (or catch up with old ones!) whilst spending time at (often) exclusive sites to which the public are not normally allowed to camp.

Why pay circa £35 a night plus on a commercial site when you can camp with a DA for £8-£13 a night for a couple, including children! Meet sites don’t have as many facilities (Shower Blocks, electric hook up etc.) but think slightly outside the box (e.g. solar panels for power) and you don’t always need (or use) the facilities offered, and that you are paying towards.

Your Camping and Caravanning Club Membership automatically enrols you in your local DA, based on the postcode of your membership.

Its not just all about camping though, with most meets (and weekends on THS’s) having various social events arranged, to which you invited to join in. We run quizzes, have boules, darts and other competitions, organise walks around the local area (which normally ends or goes via a pub!), have live bands on at our flagship Lancing THS, cookery competitions, organise meals and coffee mornings amongst other things, and some of our meets have fishing facilities on site.

If you want a quiet weekend away from the hum drum of the daily grind, or prefer to catch up and socialise, we can accommodate you.

Please have a look around the site at whats on, what we have done, what we do and who we are; Subscribe to our newsletter and if you are a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club, please join our private Facebook Group.
